I am a space hardware engineer who specializes in detector development to space environments. Designing and building instrumentation for the next generation of instruments in this exciting and fast paced field is of great interest to me.

About:

My name is James Tutt and I am an Assistant Research Professor in the McEntaffer Lab from the United Kingdom (UK). I completed my Ph.D. at the Open University in the UK and I am an expert in the use of silicon-based detectors in X-ray instruments. I have been part of the McEntaffer group since 2014 and have experience in the design, build, and launch of X-ray spectrometers on sub-orbital rocket payloads. Outside of work, I am a keen cyclist and I fill my free time with DIY projects.
